My name is Julia. I am 24 years old and I work at a big company in the city. I work full time in an office and I like my job. Sometimes there is a lot of work to be done. I work under pressure to finish my work.

Yesterday my boss, Mr Kent, wanted me to work overtime. He told me to work one hour overtime because we had some goods coming to our warehouse. I knew that if I refused to work overtime, my boss would not be happy. He cared about his business a lot and I always wanted to show him how hard I worked.

I also felt worried because my boyfriend, Jim, would be unhappy if I didn't turn up on time. We had arranged to have dinner at a restaurant. After dinner we had arranged to see a movie at a cinema.

I rang my boyfriend Jim on his home number. I told him that I would have to come late because I would have to work overtime. Jim was not impressed because I was always late for our dates.

I told Jim that it was not my fault but I would be there at 8. Jim was angry. He said I always had an excuse for being late.

I promised Jim to go and meet him at the restaurant at 7 pm directly from work. He was still unhappy.

My Weekend

Last Saturday I woke up at 9 o’clock in the morning. First of all, I washed my face and had my breakfast with my family. After that, we went to the city by train. It was a sunny day and the wind was blowing. There was a celebration in the city. There were a lot of people there. We saw people singing and dancing.

I danced with my husband/wife. We went to a Chinese restaurant to have a meal. The food was delicious but expensive. We paid 200 dollars. After that we went to St Kilda beach. The children played on the beach. They went to Luna Park. They were very happy there. They went on many rides and had a lot of fun.

In the evening we went to the shopping centre to buy some food. We bought some vegetables and fruits.

We went home and watched TV. We watched a movie called Romeo and Juliet. It was a very nice move and it went on for two hours. We had supper at home. In the end, we went to bed at 11 o’clock at night.

My First School Day

Last week I started my new English class at AMES in Box Hill. First of all, I left home at 11 o’clock in the morning. I took a bus to go to school. The bus left at 11.30 am. I arrived in Box Hill at 11. 45.

I walked to school from the bus stop in the shopping centre. I entered class and saw many students. Most of the students come from China. My teacher comes from Egypt.

I worked in class with my classmate. Her name is Rani. She is a beautiful woman from India. I made friends with many people in class.

After two hours, we had a short break. I drank some coffee and had some cake. After that, we went back to class. We studied some grammar.

At 4 o’clock we finished our class. I caught a bus back home. When I arrived home, I did my homework and cooked dinner. In the end, I was very tired. I went to bed early at night.
